John and I are both young working professionals who were having a difficult time finding love in a semi-small town. After our first date, we never looked back! Our priorities and morals line up well and we are both fortunate to have wonderful supportive families. We also share many similar interests such as: traveling, going to church, finding cool spots to have brunch, and spending time outdoors!
HOW THEY MET
We went to high school and college in neighboring cities and met through mutual friends.
HOW DID YOU KNOW THEY WERE “THE ONE”?
We went on a weekend trip to Asheville, North Carolina. We spent the evening sipping on wine and watching the sunset from the terrace. After sunset, we spent hours talking and enjoying each other’s company in the cozy chairs in the lobby before migrating to a pair of rocking chairs by the fireplace. John told me he loved me for the first time by the fireplace. The fireplaces in grove park are magnificent and it was very romantic! We spent the remainder of the evening talking about our future plans. It was by far one of my favorite memories!
HOW DID HE PROPOSE?
John proposed during a weekend trip to Charlotte, North Carolina. We were having a leisurely afternoon exploring the city with friends when John mentioned the idea of going to a nearby park. We walked to the park and I immediately sat on a bench to give my feet a rest. After a few minutes, John’s friend told me to turn around. When I turned around, John was on one knee! He completely shocked me with the timing of his proposal. We went to the rooftop of the Grand Bohemian to celebrate afterward.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE A SYLVIE RING?
We went in with a clear vision of what we wanted. we were prepared to order a custom ring, but Sylvie had exactly what we were looking for. We were ecstatic!
WHERE DID YOU PURCHASE YOUR SYLVIE RING?
We bought the ring at Dempsey’s Jewelers in Johnson City, Tennessee.

We chose the Maryam oval engagement ring in rose gold paired with a 2.09 carat oval diamond. We chose this ring because it had everything we were looking for.

I love the center stone and the daintiness of the band. It is the perfect width for me. I also love how it is simple but still provides a lot of sparkle!
AS THE GROOM, WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR SYLVIE BRIDE?
Forever was an easy decision for me. Ashley makes me happy no matter where we are or what we are doing. Just so we are together. Her smile is radiant and can light up a room. She’s funny, thoughtful, and a genuinely caring person. She’s also ambitious with her career and goal-oriented. She is beautiful in every way and perfect for me.
