Say Hello and Congratulations to our Sylvie Bride, Grace and her fiance, Hunter!
My name is Grace and I am a 29 year old engineer. My fiance, Hunter Armstrong, 41, is a small business owner and operator. We have been together for 2 years and we got engaged in December 2018. We currently live in Cumming, GA with our two rescue dachshunds, foster dachshund, and two rescued cats. We love college football and every year we can’t wait until fall.
How they met?
We met on twitter. We are both University of Tennessee football fans and we met through our twitter accounts due to a shared interest in Tennessee football. GO VOLS! Hunter originally lived in Mt Juliet, TN and our relationship was long distance for almost two years.
How did you know they were the one?
I knew hunter and I would be “together forever” when I was getting ready to go to dinner one day and he came upstairs and announced that our late rescue dachshund, Margot was entering the room like she was the queen. Margot was an older lady and had some health issues and she sashayed into the room with such confidence following his introduction of her. I laughed so hard at the two of them and knew that if he had won Margot over he won me over too.
How did they propose?
After Hunter moved to Georgia and got settled, Hunter proposed during a special dinner at home by asking me if I wanted to be his wife and if I would like to go with him to select an engagement ring.
Why did you choose a Sylvie Ring?
We actually weren’t familiar with Sylvie prior to selecting our engagement ring but the Sylvie settings really impressed us with the quality and style!
Which Sylvie ring did you choose?
WE chose the S1199-OV setting with a sapphire center stone because i wanted an oval halo and i loved that the ring was simple and wasn’t “fussy”.
Where did you purchase the ring?
Solomon Brothers in Atlanta, GA.
What do you love most about your Sylvie ring?
We loved the classic design, the quality of the diamonds in the setting, the sparkle, and the simplicity of the setting.
As a Sylvie Bride, you say yes to love and to many other things! What are they?
I don’t take no for an answer. I am a bit of a rarity as a female engineer, I have set goals for myself since a very young age and have not let anything stand in the way of my goals. In 2014 I took a huge leap of faith and spontaneously agreed to foster a dachshund, named Margot. Margot was a “foster failure” and we enjoyed 2.5 years together before we lost her. Since Margot, Hunter and I have welcomed 11 dream dachshund rescue foster dogs into our home. we have said yes every time they have asked, and we always make room.
As the groom, what do you love about your Yes girl?
I love her compassion for animals and how she cares for her foster dachshunds who are sometimes old and sick, I love how she goes to work every day and then happily cooks me dinner since I am a terrible cook, i love her sense of humor even though it can be a bit dark at times, I love her passion for the Tennessee Volunteers, I love how she never sways from her morals or principals, I love (and sometimes hate) how determined she can be to get what she wants and how hard she will work for something.
