TELL US YOUR STORY
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I always loved to travel from a young age and knew I wanted a career with an international health focus. After attending the University of Maryland, I spent the next two years working at a youth village in Rwanda. It was there that I fell in love with public health and international development. After returning to the states, I moved to Atlanta, GA to get my master’s in public health at Emory University. It was down in Atlanta that I met my fiance Jeremy.
HOW THEY MET
Jeremy and I were set up by a mutual friend. I was a teacher at her Sunday school and she one day set let me know when you’re ready to be set up, but make sure you are serious about it because he is looking for his partner. A few weeks later we went out to drinks at a bar that had lots of cool games and activities. we didn’t even make it to the game portion of the date because we were talking so much. Pretty soon we were spending every other day together and the rest is history!
HOW DID YOU KNOW THEY WERE “THE ONE”?
I was in graduate school when we started dating and a few weeks into our relationship I found out I had received a scholarship to go to Brazil for the summer to conduct research for my thesis. Jeremy and I were very newly dating at this point and I figured this could be a deal-breaker. instead of seeing it as an obstacle, Jeremy saw it as an excuse to come to visit me in Brazil and make an adventure out of it. We spent the next three months talking on the phone every night and getting to know each other much deeper than we would have in a normal dating setting.
HOW DID HE PROPOSE?
Jeremy was very sneaky and clever when it came to our proposal. We had his brother plan a double date at the Atlanta botanical gardens (one of my favorite places). His brother was in charge of the whole thing so I didn’t suspect a thing. when we arrived at the gardens, his brother called to let us know he was running late and to start without them. We did a lap around the gardens and found a cute bench to sit on. Jeremy asked me to stand closer to the overlook to see if we could see his brother yet. he pointed behind me and said “I think I see them over there” and when I turned back around he was on one knee. It was a picture-perfect proposal. he even had his best friend Shane waiting in the bushes to take the most incredible photos.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE A SYLVIE RING?
I wanted something unique and that felt like me. I had always loved antique rings and something with a little drama. My father passed away when I was 20 and my mom very kindly offered to give us her diamond from the engagement ring he gave her. It was so special to us and I knew I wanted to find a setting that merged our style but still kept true to the diamond.

We purchased our ring at Soloman Brothers in Atlanta Georgia.

I chose the Sylvie SY918 ring with round side stones. The minute I tried it on I knew it was the one. It complimented my mom’s round diamond while adding the character and uniqueness to the ring that I was looking for. After I tried that one on, nothing else compared.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR RING?
My ring feels like us. I love knowing I have a piece of my dad with me at all times, and that Jeremy and I chose this setting together for our new future. It is unique and feels romantic. It is the absolute perfect ring!
AS THE GROOM, WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR SYLVIE BRIDE?
When I proposed to Taylor I said to her “you make me a better friend, a better son, and a better person”. She loves strongly and cares deeply about her friends. family, and the world around her. She is passionate about everything she takes on and finds fulfillment in making the world a better place. She is my absolute best friend, dog parent partner, and the person I want to spend my life with.
