Say hello and congratulations to our Sylvie bride, Amanda and her fiance, Titus!

Story

Titus and I met in the summer of 2018. We have careers that make living in the same city a challenge, so we’ve been long distance ever since. Through traveling together, reading books together, and lots of video chatting we have made it work! Distance is relative when it’s true love after all.

How they met?

I actually met my fiancé through a dating app! I was a third-year medical student at the time and had created a profile over the summer. I can’t forget, it was a Wednesday when I came across his profile. He was in town for a festival he was performing at (he’s a graduate of Julliard in classical performance) and I immediately slowed down as to not accidentally swipe past him! I often tease him that it was a picture of him standing next to his road bike that attracted me (who doesn’t love a sporty guy?!). We met at a bar that Friday, I watched him perform at the festival that Saturday, and we talked over French fries and wine all night Sunday! The rest is kismet.

How did you know they were the one?

I brought Titus home to meet my family after 4 months together. He’s such a charming guy and I had no doubts that my family would love him too. I was especially impressed with how much he and my dad got along!

How did he propose?

In late November, my mother called me regarding a party she wanted to have during the Christmas holiday. Now my mother never throws holiday parties, which was suspicious, but I let it go. The evening of the party, my mother asks Titus to play a piece for everyone. There I am, among the crowd of my family and friends, enamored and recording Titus play. When he finishes playing, he gives a speech about some of the challenges he’s faced over the year and how I’ve stayed by his side, and then finally how the party was a surprise party. I immediately started crying as he called my father over to him, small black box in hand. The next thing I know, one of my aunts lifted me from the floor where I was sitting and walks me over to Titus who then bent down on one knee and asked me to marry him! The screaming was so loud when he opened that box, no one could hear me say yes!

What made you decide to choose a Sylvie ring?

I knew I wanted a pear-shaped ring with a halo, but I chose a Sylvie ring because I loved the vintage aesthetic of the rings. The rings I saw from Sylvie were all so beautiful and unique and had an attention to detail that I just had not seen anywhere else.

Which ring did you choose and why?

When we came upon Astride (SY096), I knew that this was my ring. I even told Titus that there was no point in even continuing to look at other rings because it had everything I wanted, pear shaped setting, halo, and a gorgeous band.

Where did you purchase the ring?

Titus bought the ring from King Jewelers on Hillsborough Pike in Nashville, TN.

What do you love about your Sylvie ring?

I love that my Sylvie collection ring is so interesting to look at. I was immediately attracted to the double row of pave set diamonds in the band, not to mention the milgrain detail around the border. I also love that Titus customized it himself by pairing a colored stone with rose gold but chose a white gold milgrain design for the transition of the center stone to the halo. It’s a piece of art.

As a Sylvie Bride, you say yes to love and to many other things! What are they?

I say yes to love. Yes to lifelong companionship, building and growth, joy, crushing challenges, adventure and travels, makeups after arguments, laughter until well past midnight, weekly dates, playing video games together, sharing books, growing a family, and endless discovery. Yes to forever!

As the groom, what do you love about your Yes girl?

I love that Amanda is a loving, caring, and mindful partner. She is fiercely intelligent and always pushing me to be a better version of myself. She is also the best gift giver I have ever met! When I look into her eyes, I see my life long partner. She is truly a heaven send, and I want to do everything I can to keep our relationship deeply grounded in love and compassion without forgetting to have lots of fun! She is my “yes” girl simply because she is an amazing human being. I love her very much and I am ecstatic to continue this journey with her.
