Story
Meet our Sylvie Bride, Amanda! Grew up in the same hometown, but didn’t start dating until I was 6 months out from graduating High School and leaving for college. We knew time was short, but we wanted to give it a shot and see where our relationship went. Eight years later, he still hasn’t left my side!
How did you meet?
We met my sophomore – his freshman – year of high school. We were in the same math class but didn’t talk too much back then. During my senior year, we started hanging out in the same friend circles and I knew he worked at Chick-Fil-A which is where we used to hang out a lot after school and before football games. One night he messaged me on Facebook asking for my phone number and the rest is history!
The moment you knew he was the one?
The night before I left for college, we were sitting out in my parent’s driveway late at night and just talking about the future and what we were going to do now that I was leaving. I think in that moment, the pain of being separated and how much we wanted to make this work was a sign to both of us that we were meant to be together.
How did he propose?
We were in Greece for two weeks on vacation and he had set up a surprise date. He told me to dress nicely and be ready at 2PM. At 2PM we were picked up and whisked away to a private boat tour around the island of Santorini! He had set up everything perfectly – there was Great wine, Great food, swimming, and a beautiful sunset view!
What made you decide to choose a Sylvie collection ring?
I had wanted a timeless and simple piece and a SOLITAIRE oval really caught my eye. We had started ring shopping earlier this year and it was almost impossible to find a solitaire oval at any store. One day my boyfriend (well… now fiancĂ©!) was out ring shopping on his own and actually found the Sylvie Solitaire! When I got home, he said he found the perfect ring and wanted me to go with him to see it in person. I fell in love the moment I saw it. She became a Sylvie bride in this moment!
Which ring did you choose and why?
We chose the Classic Oval Engagement Ring (S2093) because it was everything I could ever dream of! Not only is the diamond stunning, but the setting is gorgeous with the diamonds around the band and prongs. I may be biased but it’s the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen. 🙂
Where did you buy the ring?
Midtown Jewelers in Reston, VA. Huge shout out to Bobby for being so friendly and helpful throughout the entire process!
What do you love most about your Sylvie collection ring?
It’s simple, classic, and timeless. Everything I wanted. I also love that because it’s so simple, you can really play around with the wedding band. I’m thinking I’ll probably do a fun stackable band with my ring!

For your fiancé: What do you love most about your Sylvie bride?
She is beautiful, smart, funny, and everything I could want in a girl, But, the best thing about her is that she makes me a better person. Amanda makes me laugh (and laughs at most of my stupid jokes), she makes me smile, and she makes me happy. My best friend and I never get tired of spending time with her. There isn’t a better match out there for me and I’m extremely lucky to have her.
